FROM THE PARISH NURSES DESK
The Month of November is recognized as National Alzheimers Disease Awareness month.
The disease casues a progressive detereoration of the mind and affects approximately 4 million persons in our country. There is no specific test used to diagnose Alzheimers disease. The disease attacks the brain and results in ongoing memory loss, as well as problems with thinking and behavior. The caregiver in the family is the one who needs a great deal of support both spiritually and emotionally.
On January 15, 2009 the Parish Nurses will present a seminar on “The Overview of Alzheimers Disease” to be given by someone from the Alzheimers Assoc. of Central NJ. Watch the bulletin for more information.
Remember before Mass, talk to God. During Mass, God talks to you. After Mass, talk to each other.
